All the action, none of the boring stuff!

Coming soon on

Big League Diceball is a board game that incorporates the fun and exciting parts of baseball. It has all the action – runs, outs, double plays, home runs… or being robbed of one, and none of the boring stuff.

Some baseball board games keep track of every ball and strike, specific types of outs (and other details) which is very time consuming, tedious, and causes players to lose interest. Some also use marbles as the runners, but they tend to roll off the board. With Big League Diceball, the dice become the runners. And some have over 20 different dice combinations to be memorized! This game has just 6: 1=single, 2=double, 3=triple, 4=home run, 5 & 6=out. It focuses on the action, both on offense and defense!

It isn’t intended to mimic every aspect of baseball. For instance, an out is an out. It doesn’t matter if it’s a ground out, fly out, foul out, or strike out. It incorporates all the basic action concepts to engage the entire family in a fun and exciting game… even those who aren’t baseball fans!

One reviewer said, “It’s as fun for a couple of six-year-olds as it is for a couple of guys drinking beers and acting like six-year-olds!”

It can be played one-on-one or with teams, and picking your team name to put on the scoresheet begins the fun competition. When selecting team names, it’s fun to make it about something pertinent to what’s happening at the time. For instance, a play tester noted that they were picking blueberries while camping and there were the pickers and the eaters, and those became their team names. It adds a level of fun to the game, especially if you have an announcer! (Sometimes a creative announcer has more fun!)

Optional playing enhancements: The game’s continuous action also begs for commentary and antics, like making crowd noises when a player gets a hit, sliding into base (including sound effects), and tapping the dice on the board as the runners advance around the bases. It’s fun to have someone play the part of commentator/announcer, too! And singing Sweet Caroline at 7th inning stretch is always a fun addition, but then again it adds 3:20 to the game if you sing the whole thing! 😉

There are two options for playing: Simultaneous or alternate roll. One adds excitement, the other adds suspense… and both add fun!

An average game takes approximately 15 minutes to complete, and the loser typically calls for an immediate rematch, or calls for a 2-out-of-3 series… yes, it gets that competitive!

Even people who would never buy a baseball board game have played this game and love it. Each game includes a game board, quickstart and detailed rules, score pad (including an extra inning), and offensive & defensive dice. And if you run out of scoresheets, don’t worry!
